Ted Yoho Congressman Responds To AOC's Accusations, AOC Has Message In Return
I said this bunch of BS policy and there was two reporters like I said at the base of the staff tonight was 25 30 feet away. My back was to them, and so they said well, can you tell us what your conversation was? I said no comment, then they asked me something else. I said no comment and I walked away and thought it would be done. It was interesting because I think she has reported that I costed her twice. I did not. We had another boat series, we happen to cross paths again and she went past me and I didn’t say a word until she said something and she yelled out my name and I took her. I said yeah and she goes we’re not done with this I’m. Not done with you, and so I mean yeah – could I’m handle a better. Yes, a mature 65 year old man. I probably should have set up a beating and talked to her about her policies, but that’ll be a topic for another day. Anything you feel you need to apologize, for. I said I think, maybe if to apologize for what I’m being accused of, I can’t apologize, because I didn’t say that, could I have handled this differently yeah, you know, like I said I could have set up a meeting.
You say: hey I’d, like to talk to you, but your your policies, and you know for that and if I’ve embarrassed my constituents, I apologize for that and we’re gon na make a statement on the House floor tomorrow: Music.
Music. Mr Speaker, I stand before you this morning to address the strife I injected into the already contentious Congress. I have worked with many members in this chamber over the past four terms, members on both sides of the aisle, and each of you know that I’m, a man of my word. So let me take a moment to address this body. I rise to apologize for the abrupt manner of the conversation I had with my colleague from New York. It is true that we disagree on policies and visions for America, but that does not mean we should be disrespectful. Having been married for forty five years with two daughters, I’m, very cognizant of my language, the offensive name calling words attributed to me by the press were never spoken to my colleagues and if they were construed that way, I apologize for their misunderstanding. As my colleagues know, I’m passionate about those affected by poverty, my wife Carolyn and I started out together at the age of 19, with nothing. We did odd jobs and we were on food stamps. I know the face of poverty and for a time it was mine. That is why I know people in this country can still, with all its faults, rise up and succeed and not be encouraged to break the law.
I will commit to each of you that I will conduct myself from a place of passion and understanding that policy and political disagreement be vigorously debated, with the knowledge that we approach the problems facing our nation with the betterment of the country in mind and the people.
